I don't think there are many movies out there quite like this one. But I found it to be an insightful, intriguing story of survival in the strangest of circumstances. All in all, if your favorite movie, of all time, is White Chicks then it's a fair assumption that you're gonna hate this movie. I believe her actions in the climax prove that. I also think there's a sense that The Woman, even if she could've been saved, she wouldn't have wanted to reintegrate herself back into society. The climactic scene, you'll know the one.it's the one where anything remotely "action-heavy" occurs, is certainly very symbolic and could imply that it was just a product of The Woman's own psyche as I think what happened represents everything she's grown to completely dislike about humankind. There's enough mystery and intrigue that it's completely open to interpretation. I think both theories are definitely very interesting and I don't think there's any wrong theory as to the film's events. Or whether the wall really did exist and some cataclysmic event DID happen that killed everyone outside of the wall itself. And the most interesting part of the film itself is debating the events of the film itself and whether or not was the wall itself was a product of The Woman's own psyche and her disillusion with the life she was leading beforehand and how she wanted to completely remove herself from the society she once knew. There's some definite existentialism here and the movies raises has some very profound questions. If there's one thing this film will make you do, it's think about the observations The Woman puts forward and question life in general. It is a film, though, for those of us who value complex and thought-provoking storytelling and a beautiful Austrian landscape.
That's just plain and simple, this isn't a movie meant for everybody. So if you're someone who needs over-the-top acting and emotions in order to get into a movie, then you're barking up the wrong tree and you're gonna hate it. So you could say that nothing much happens in the movie, as the movie only depends on The Woman's, her name is never given, observations and how she maintains herself occupied in this most unfortunate circumstance. First things first, the movie is all about her thoughts and observations as she goes through this 'ordeal' and how her opinions about life and humanity change during the three years she's "stuck". The film tells the story of this woman who's caught off from society by this invisible, and seemingly endless, wall and how she is forced to survive on her own with only her animals to keep her company. The Wall (2021), Drama Thriller released in English language in theatre near you. Granted, I found the film to be expertly made and absolutely compelling in its quiet dignity, what I like about the movie the most is the debate it creates about the events of the film. This is an excellent movie, but probably not for reasons related to the film itself.
